1st of the 3rd quarter
ok so i would like to discuss my childhood cartoons with everybody but i forget how to view the prompt so i guess i will have to just do my blog the old way thisw week but it is ok because it is a new quarter and there is a bunch of new stuff going on in class now.to be honest this stuff is really boring that we are doing right now. it is a struggle to keep my eyes open in class. that has never been a big problem before this stuff. i dont know what it is but it is just really boring to me. school is not enjoyable unless you like the stuff you are doing in class. its kind of like this. if you like what is going on in class you will pay attention. if you pay attention you will get good grades. if you get good grades then you will like the class. and if you like your classes than you will like your day. and finally if you like your days at school, school will be enjoyable. to be honest i just tryed to ramble on for a couple of minutes so i could get this blog over with. i plan on not really talking directly about the class but rather to talk about it indirectly. this is hard to do as you can see because i am running out of ideas to talk about. i need to do well on these blogs because they are a big part of our grade. if i do well on these i will have a larger margin for error on other things in class. ok i dont really want to write anything else on this blog so i think i am going to be done after this secntance. so yeah im done.

ok so this is my first and hopefully only makeup blog that i have to do. i dont really know what was going on in november which is when this blog was due but i will take a guess and just summerize the past couple of months in this blog. now that i think about it that would be a lot of stuff to fit into one blog. so lets just reminis on some of the good times that we had in english. just kidding that would take a long time aswell im just rambeling now but it relates to english because i am practicing my improvising skills. in typing that is. well i dont know were im going from here i just need to type for fifteen minutes. so during english i
Blog
today i am determened to do two blog posts. i am doing this because i have neglected to do my blog post last week. well now to my blog. the mystery unint is a lot better than i thought it was going to be. i am suprised at the classes willingness to particapate in conversations and predictions that wwe make while reading the book. overall the stories that we watch and that we read are not that bad. compared to other stories that we read these stories are good. i also like when we read stories in class because usually it tskes up most of the class time. i do not enjoy normal class when we take notes and things. that is why i like to read during class. also i like to predict what will happen in the near future in the book. well that is about all for my blog post this week next i will do my makeup blog for a couple of weeks ago.

12-12
well the talks that we had in class were very interesting. it was kind of an eyeopener to hear everyones opinions on such a highley debated topic. i didnt talk much in the discussion, i know that is what you are suposed to do in a discussion, but i just didnt really know how to voice my opinion. its kind of like that for a lot of thinggs i dont know if it is for my lack of interest in school or if its something else. the point is i dont talk much when we are debating. i honestly have no motivation to talk in this class. if you say something its not like it matters. you cant change someones opinion that easily. i just do what i do. i sit in the back and listen untill its time to go.i think it makes school easier. so instead of getting yelled at by your teachers your parents and your friends you only have to deal with the teachers and your parents . i dont know why.

12th post or maybe 13th
well i had a hard time getting internet conection in my house, which is not a big suprise. i swear every time i need to do something, like a homework assignment, it choses to not work.but that is not something to be discussed on this blog. whqt should be on this blog is something about human rights. human rights are basically rights of equality among other human beings. everyone should be entitled to human rights. i think it is good that we are learning this in school. we cant grow up thinking that it is ok to deny other people human rights. for example, saying gay or retarded. it is not ok to say these things. what you are basically saying is that it is bad to be retarded or gay. yo are using words or phrases that describe people in a negative way . why is this underlined. i dont know what is going on. i dont like this. not one bit. well ok there we are i dont know why that just happened but it did. but it is a good thing that we learn now that what we say can hurt people. we need to learn it now so we dont develop bad habbits and things of that nature. it is a good life lesson that needs to be tought and what better ways than learning from mistakes that we have made in the past.

Mascot, Nightjohn, and The Great Debaters
1.
Nightjohn is a story about an African American child born into slavery. Sarne, the main character and narrator, was raised to believe that white people were better than they were. She was raised to believe that only white people could have certain privileges, like being able to read. Sarne did not understand why she could not learn how to read. The truth is, that was one of the main differences between slaves and their owners. And the owners realized that they had to enforce it. No slave was aloud to learn how to read. Nightjohn, as he was called in the story, was a big influence on slaves. He escaped his job as a slave to the north. He went back to the south, and risked his life going back into slavery to teach slaves how to read. He went there with a plan, to teach the young how to read so they could pass it on to the generations. His brave actions led him to teach a young slave how to read. he completed his goal and maybe Sarne would pass it on to another child.
2.
Mascot, the story of an African American boy growing up. Malcolm was just trying to figure out what his place in this world was. Trying to find somewhere that he fit in. when he was disowned by his community after his failed boxing debut, he turned to anger and violence for his answers. After being expelled for these actions he was sent to a reform school to set him on the right path. It was at the detention home in Mason, Michigan were he grew fond of his care takers Mr. and Mrs. Swerlin. The detention home set him in the right direction. After the detention home he got a shot at going to a normal school. Mason junior high school was the next school that Malcolm went to. He had a good life during his time at school. He was on the basketball team and even became class president of his class. He had a life much like a normal white boy would have, but that did not change the fact that he was black. One day after school he went in to talk to his English teacher Mr. Ostrowski. Mr. Ostrowski started to talk to Malcolm about his future. When he asked Malcolm what he wanted to do for a living Malcolm responded,” I want to be a lawyer". Mr. Ostrowski told him that it simply would not happen because he was black. At that time it was unheard of for a black man to even think about becoming a lawyer. Malcolm then realized the harsh reality; his future was decided by the color of his skin. life would change a lot for Malcolm after this point. He later said that it was for the best that he made the decision that he did.
3.
The stories that we read in class have many similarities and differences from The Great Debaters. All of the stories have one major thing in common; they have to deal with human rights. Race was a key factor in all of the stories that we read. People simply were not treated equally because of the color of their skin. In Nightjohn the slaves were slaves because of the color of their skin. In The Great Debaters they had to overcome obstacles because of the color of their skin. And in mascot Malcolm was treated like an animal because of the color of his skin. He could not do something that he dreamed of because of the color of his skin. Even though the morals of the stories are generally the same the stories do differ. For example in the story Mascot Malcolm was not able to do what he wanted. In The Great Debaters they did go on to complete what they wanted to do. And in Nightjohn we do not know what happened. If they completed their goal or if they even had a goal. Even though the stories were so similar in the sense that they had to deal with human the endings and the outcome of the stories were different.

10th response
just for the record i am listening to the new taylor swift album.
i know at least one person will respect that. so anyway back to what this blog is about. this blog is suposed to be about something that relates to class. so this blog is related to class. what i am saying is that i said something about taylor swift in this blog and this blog is related to this class so technicly i can write this entire blog about taylor swift because it relates to class. haha pretty clever i know. so taylor swift is one or the best country artists that has ever lived. and being that i started listening to country music two years ago that may not be true. but her songs are great.
I was riding shotgun with my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
The other on my heart
I look around, turn the radio down
He says, ?Baby is something wrong??
I say, ?Nothing I was just thinking
How we don't have a song? and he says
Our song is the slamming screen door
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
'Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date man, I didn't kiss her and I should have
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if He could play it again
I was walking up the front porch steps
After everything that day
Had gone all wrong or been trampled on
And lost and thrown away
Got to the hallway, well, on my way
To my lovin' bed
I almost didn't notice all the roses
And the note that said
Our song is the slamming screen door
Sneakin' out late, tapping on your window
When we're on the phone and you talk real slow
'Cause it's late and your mama don't know
Our song is the way you laugh
The first date man, I didn't kiss her and I should have
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if He could play it again
I've heard every album, listened to the radio
Waited for something to come along
That was as good as our song
'Cause our song is the slamming screen door
Sneakin' out late, tapping on his window
When we're on the phone and he talks real slow
'Cause it's late and his mama don't know
Our song is the way he laughs
The first date man, I didn't kiss him and I should have
And when I got home, 'fore I said amen
Asking God if He could play it again
Play it again, oh, yeah, oh, oh, yeah
I was riding shotgun with my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
I grabbed a pen and an old napkin
And I wrote down our song
I was riding shotgun with my hair undone
In the front seat of his car
He's got a one-hand feel on the steering wheel
The other on my heart
I look around, turn the radio down
He says, ?Baby is something wrong??
